Another Asus eReader Revealed no comments
Devicemag is reporting that details of another Asus ereader have been
revealed. This one is the DR-950 and will feature a 9-inch black and white Sipix touchscreen rather than a color screen like the ereader announced yesterday.
The DR-950’s screen will have a resolution of 1024 x 768, and will display 16 gray scales. There will also be a web browser and text to speech for multiple languages. WiFi and 3G are also included in the new ereader.
Supported formats include PDF, TXT and ePub; no word yet on which
DRM’ed formats might be supported, but I would expect Adobe Digital Editions to be added.
Asus has been intimating for some time that they would be entering the ereader market. Previously the concepts that they have shown have been more akin to netbooks than ereaders, but the DR-950 does look like a serious contender.
