Changes to Kindle’s Personal Document Service   no comments

Amazon now archives any personal documents that you send to your Send-to-Kindle email address.  Personal documents now become a part of your Kindle library and any notes, highlights and bookmarks you make on them are synced with Whispersync.

A possibly important change for users of the service is that after Sept 28, 2011 you will have only one Send-to-Kindle email address that is associated to your Amazon account and that will be applied to all of your devices.  This means that if you send a document it will show up on all of your registered devices, which you may not want.

Amazon says that if you had multiple Kindle ereaders registered to your account prior to Sept 28 they will still have their individual email addresses.  If you deregister and then re-register one of these devices it will then be assigned the common Send-to-Kindle email address.

For all the details see Amazon’s Kindle Personal Documents Page.
