Netflix updates its Android app – now works with Froyo and Gingerbread devices no comments
Netflix today updated its Android app and it will now work with all devices running Android 2.2 (Froyo) and 2.3 (Gingerbread). Let the streaming begin!

P.S.S. Besides streaming Netflix on my iPad or Android tablet, one way I use my tablets is to manage my Netflix queue. This comes in handy if you are, for example, watching a DVD on a TV in another room from your desktop and see a movie in the previews you would like to add to your queue. Or you may be talking films with a friend somewhere away from home and you hear about something you would like to watch and add it to your queue with your tablet or phone.
Netflix rudely stopped allowing customers to manage their queues from within its apps on portable devices at the beginning of the year. Now you have to go to the Netflix website to make changes to your queue. Fortunately, app developers quickly stepped up and provided more convenient alternatives to using a browser in the form of third-party Netflix queue management apps.
I’ve been using Queue Manager on my Xoom tablet with good results. This free app (at Amazon or The Android Market) does require you to install Adobe Air before it will work. Queue Manager presents your instant and disk queues very attractively as thumbnails and lets you add and remove titles or change their order in the list. There are other features as well; such as displaying all of your shipped or returned disks.
All of the queue managers for iOS seem to be sized for the iPhone, with no HD versions available. A couple to look at are iQueue, which is available in both a paid ($0.99) and a free lite version, and QueueUp for Netflix which is $1.99 at iTunes.
