Lenovo launches a trio of new tablets no comments
Lenovo has announced a new family of tablets, one of which is the first Android-powered tablet to achieve Netflix certification:
- IdeaPad Tablet K1 — designed for consumers. The IdeaPad K1 is available to pre-order now for $499.99 and is expected to ship in the first week of August.
- 10.1–inch screen; 10-point multitouch; Resolution 1200 x 800.
- 10.4 x 7.4 x 5 inches; weighs 1.7 pounds.
- Android 3.1.
- Nvidia Tegra 2 processor.
- 1 GB internal memory; 32GB SSD (can be upgraded to 64GB).
- Up to 10 hours battery life.
- Micro SD card slot; Micro HDMI out; SIM card slot; Microphone; Headphone jack.
- Netflix and a number of paid gaming and other apps pre-installed.
- Integrated cloud storage (2GB free).
- Front (2MP) and rear (5MP) facing cameras.
- Available in 3 colors.
- 10.1–inch screen; 10-point multitouch; Resolution 1200 x 800.
- IdeaPad Tablet P1 — designed for home and office use. The P1, for which pricing and not many specs have been released yet, should become available in the fourth quarter of 2011.
- Runs Windows 7 and powered by a 1.5GHz Intel processor.

- Android 3.1 running on Nvidia Tegra 2 platform.
- 10.1-inch WXGA IPS display with Gorilla Glass; Resolution 1280 x 800.

- Battery life up to 8 hours with Wi-Fi turned on.
- Full size & micro USB ports; mini HDMI; 3-in-1 card reader.
- Wi-Fi; 3G option; Bluetooth.
- Front (2MP) and rear (5MP) facing cameras.
- 10.25 x 7 x .6 inches; Weighs 1.65 pounds or slightly more for the 3G model.
- Comes with business oriented and security apps pre-installed.
The ThinkPad Tablet will start at $479 for a 16GB Wi-Fi model, and should be available in the US in August and elsewhere in Q3 2011 (Wi-Fi only models will launch first). The ThinkPad has a nice-looking portfolio case with built-in keyboard that will also be available for $99.
