I’m sure Amazon will have a Kindle Reader app for Android sooner or later, maybe after they finish with the Mac app. As for Overdrive, I’ve emailed them about this but have not received an answer yet.
Update: Overdrive sent this email:Unfortunately, the Adobe eBooks provided by OverDrive are currently not
compatible with the Apple iPhone as the iPhone does not support EPUB or
PDF files protected using ACS (Adobe Content Server) DRM. So at this
time neither downloading Adobe eBooks directly to the iPhone or loading
them from Adobe Digital Editions on the desktop are supported. We are
sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but hope that we can provide
eBooks on the iPhone platform in the future. … this explanation also
applies to the Android-based phones. -
Whilst I really like a physical keyboard, after managing the Samsung Captivate for about quarter-hour, it’s onerous to head back. Right now I am debating whether or not to go to Verizon for the Droid X, go to Dash for the EVO, or stay with AT&T for the Captivate…decisions, decisions.

Is there anything on the horizon for Android users as far as library ebooks go? The audio is great and I use Overdrive Media Console on my G1, but I want to be able to borrow PDF or Mobi library ebooks. I still can’t fathom why Amazon hasn’t come out with a Kindle Reader for Android yet, either. Why so slow on the draw, Amazon?
